Poetry

Occasionally – mostly when I am on holiday in Cornwall – I write poetry. I promise myself I’ll write more. Even more occasionally I read my poems at poetry events at Birmingham City University or the Birmingham & Midland Institute.

Published poems include:

‘A Postcard’ (inspired by Laura Knight’s painting ‘The Dark Pool’ in Coast to Coast to Coast (April 2018)

‘My thoughts like birds to heaven go’ in the Words for the Wild 2018 anthology

‘Cheesewring’ on Words for the Wild website (read it here)

‘The Night-Picker’ in Three Drops from a Cauldron‘s ‘Fairy Rings and Changelings’ Midsummer Anthology 2019

‘Shadow-Bride’ in Dawntreader magazine (Indigo Dreams Press), 2018

‘She dreams of breaking glass’ in Under the Radar magazine (Nine Arches Press), 2019

‘Green Music’ in the inaugural issue of Poetry Birmingham (August 2019)

‘Flying Horse Lane’ at Atrium Poetry (October 2019)
